LibreOffice Writer

Ubuntu applications selector

This screenshot shows a document opened by LibreOffice Writer. Note the classic menu bar, with a text menu along the top and icons below. The organization of the text menu should be very familiar to long-time computer users, as it is based on the pattern that was used for years by Windows-compatible programs, and is still very common in the Linux world. Writer is shown as an example; all components of the LibreOffice suite use similar menus.
